Marta Kelly Awarded the 3rd Annual Sheila Burns Memorial Award

Sheila Burns, who passed away in 2015, was a long-time member of the Hampton River Runners. This award, presented in her memory, is awarded to recognize “an individual who, through his/her hard work, leadership and personal example, has made a significant contribution to the running community in southern New Brunswick”. The Hampton River Runners are proud to recognize the many contributions of Marta Kelly as the 3rd recipient of the Shiela Burns Award.

A Message from the Race Director

Over the past 17 years, the Hampton 5-Miler has raised over $80,000, all of which has been returned to the community in the form donations to schools, sports groups and local organizations in support of sports, physical fitness, and healthy living initiatives. We’d like to continue to provide this support, and perhaps even increase it! You can help! One of our biggest expenses is the purchase of 5-Miler t-shirts for every participant. If you’re willing to forego receiving a t-shirt, then the portion of your registration fee that goes toward buying the shirt will instead go directly to our financial support of school and community active living projects. Just indicate that you do not require a t-shirt when you register. For those who still want a t-shirt, we understand, and they are available for the first 150 registrations. Thanks for your contribution!
